Hudson building and tower
The Samoa Observatory is located on the northeastern tip of Tutuila island, American Samoa, on a ridge overlooking the South Pacific Ocean. The observatory was established in 1974 on a 26.7 acre site as one of the CMDL Baseline Observatories. The AGAGE started measuring atmospheric CFC-11, CFC-12, CFC-113, methyl chloroform, CCl4, N2O and CH4 in 1978 by using high-precision GC-multidetector system.
